About the project

Folk for All celebrates and encourages participation in folk music, song, and dance from Britain, Ireland, and beyond.

Inspiration for our project has come from our involvement in the local folk scene, the opportunities and encouragement we have each been given to take part, excellent workshops we have attended, and the fun we have being part of a community and sharing experiences.

We encourage everyone to get involved, whether you are just curious about folk arts, whether you are completely new to the idea, or whether you already dance, sing, or play. We would love to give people an opportunity to explore, and to have fun.

The Spring Gathering will be our main event, on 21st March 2026, in Otley, West Yorkshire.

There will be workshops suitable for adults and young people. We plan to hold an informal celebration ceilidh to end the event. We will share more details here as they are confirmed.
